Animals don’t talk to us, or do they?
Scientific studies have shown there are areas of the brain in both humans and animals that have been
mapped and linked to communication abilities.
Animals are unable to speak to us humans in words, however as a pet owner I know that animals do indeed speak
and communicate to us.
We can learn from animals, interact and communicate with them.
In our busy human life we don’t always stop to listen and investigate whats going on in our pets life
or what they are trying to let us know and that can be a problem if our pet is unwell.
Some animals such as dogs will try to hide the fact that they are in pain.
In the wild, injured animals in a pack or group of animals would be viewed as a weakness and a liability to the group they live with in.
It is important in the animal kingdom for a group of animals to react to danger quickly and efficiently, thus ensuring a higher
rate of survival. Predators detect and hunt the weak and injured because its an easy kill and feed, so the risk to the group
or pack is greater when a member is weakened or injured.
So in the animal world, showing weakness or injury is like having a big neon sign flashing that reads, easy meal found here.
Animals such as dogs that live with humans view us as part of their pack and instinctively try not to show illness and pain.
That’s why when we own pets its not always easy for us to detect when our animals are sick.
Its much easier for us to understand our pets communication when they are well and happy.
For example when we come home after being away, pet owners would usually see in their dog, excited jumping, tail wagging,
face licking, happy doggy talk saying its great to see you lets go for a walk.
Cats will rub themselves on you, meow and purr usually saying glad your here what food or toy did you bring me,
or lets play I have been asleep for ages and I am ready for you to love and entertain me now or let me give you
the pleasure of having my company.
Rabbits will hop up and say hello by giving us lots of sniffs and tickels with their whiskers, you get the idea.
There are many different animals we may have as a pet, so how do we humans learn to communicate, understand what
our pets are saying to us? Domesticated pets consistenty try to communicate to us what they want or need.
The method they use to communicate with us is called telepathy because they send messages without using any words.
Pets also use body language in helping to communicate with us, they provide sights, sounds, tastes, scents, feelings
and emotions.
1. Learn what is normal behaviour for your pet
2. Interact with your pet
3. Take time to watch, learn and listen to what they are communicating to us
These three things will bring us joy and important understanding of our pets well being.
Yes animals do talk to us,we just have to learn how to listen.
When we listen, pets bring us a life of friendship, fun and unconditional love.
